This was one of some 'developments', as follows:

rapid April
some of the river's ice
[already] divorced

Another sketch was like this:

dark clouds
whitening -
divorced

First version was from 2nd April 2013:

whole winter
in vain?
April snows melting

Later I rewrote it as this (7th April 2013):

not in vain
whole winter -
new April snows!

(As we got some snowshowers again...)
