Reading Kerouac

Warm salt
in my eyes --
a swimming jellyfish

I made this one after reading Jack Kerouac's Scattered Poems / San Francisbo Blues, poem 4:

And
The taste of worms
Is soft & salty
Like the sea
Or tears.

(Jack Kerouac 1961)

it's only water --
a rainy spring day

Variations

Idea # 1:

By an empty shore
no one --
stones

# 2:

The sea is kissing
rounded stones
on an empty shore

# 3:

an open sea --
shingles
are listening

After I wrote those I thought to add someone into the shore:

# 4:

a woman
sitting by the shore,
just sea kissing the shingles

But L3 is too long , so # 5:

A widow on a shore --
the sea cuddling
the shingles

1st of May

Spring arrived --
all these dusty dusks
hugging me!

Inspired by Jack Kerouac, Book of Sketches (Penguin 2006) page 402:

Spring is coming --
Yep, all that equipment
For sighs
