dewfall is something does not happen -
if a dew, there was some misty perhaps,
if dew is iced there been some cooling down, freezing,

and if after a warmer misty night dew was iced
there also been calming down before it.

The wind? Not mentioned.

some possible variations were:

misty night
cooling down ...
a dewfall on the leaf


or:

after a misty night
calming down -
bright morning sun


Therefore "iced" was not necessary?
But so it happens in our nature,
sometimes
